Somewhere in Time

In my dream I was afraid because I knew the men who had broken in before and hurt me would come again. I went to the front door to check the locks and when I turned around my daughter was there, very tiny again, riding a tricycle. She asked where my friend Michael was, said that he would protect us, and I told her that he wasn't there because he has his own family. She didn't know he had a family and I explained that he was still a part of our lives too, and I said, "That's because God planned for all of us to be here on this planet at the same time to help one another."

I still have this lingering sense from my dream of how remarkable that is. Each person I have met in person or online is here in this tiny blip on the map of time for a reason, for a purpose, and each relationship I have is a strand that weaves its vibrant color into the fabric of my life. So many of you, weaving yourself into my life, have strengthened the threads of my soul, made the tapestry of life so much richer in hue and dimension. I'm so glad that God chose us to all travel here in this tiny increment of time. Bless all you brave ones journeying on this earth, who courageously open, loosen and unravel yourselves and lovingly weave others in.

I had a dream that I posted once on my blog. It scared the crap outta me, but when I thought it through it was so understandable - every aspect of it. I don't think I posted what it meant. I'll email ya later.

Oh good! Not that it scared the crap out of you, of course. :) But I'd love to hear about it and what was revealed to you about it. Hey, and thanks for being one of the beautiful strands in my life - you were one of those threads I was thinking about, of course! :)

Anne,

I like this word picture. It adds value (in my mind) to all the seemingly coincidental events in life...meeting friends online, encountering strangers on the way to the office, or whatever.

There is a reason each of us is here~now. A method to the madness! *ha*

I hope to become one of those courageous ones you mention--someone who loosens up, and lets others in.

I'm glad you're part of the fabric of my life--we're cut from the same cloth!

Kingsjoy, it is interesting to think about how the people we encounter all happened to be here in this brief moment, isn't it? I laughed when I read about us being cut from the same cloth - that's not always presented as a compliment, but I'm going to take it as such, and I heartily agree!

i love this... i was just talking to an old friend i used to work for, and we decided that we needed to get together more often, and there were a few other women that wanted to get together that we used to work with.... we come from all backgrounds, ages, races, etc. we decided we'd meet once a month for dinner, just for a time to share stories and to encourage one another. my friend asked me to make up a name... you won't believe the name i came up with..... that's right, Tapestry! and then i click on your blog and see you talking about it here.... how awesome is that. if you don't mind, i might use some of your wording in my invitation to the ladies to let them know the details of our group. you have such a way with words. thank you for letting me in on your tapestry! and i owe you a phone call for an update - you know what i mean! :) love ya

Darla, you can use whatever of mine that you like! Thanks so much for your nice words about my words. :) Another "Godincidence" about your Tapestry and my writing about it...I'm so glad that you have these women you're going to get together with. May it bring lots of wonderful fellowship and laughter!
